- Do not waste your text on duplicating the accommodation facilities – we list these for you. Concentrate on why they should visit you as opposed to another property - what they can do! Wet their taste buds by describing how they can occupy their valuable holiday time. Mention local attractions, events, sporting pursuits, leisure and cultural centres, entertainment facilities, local landmarks and gourmet experiences.
- Advertisements with more than 300 words in our descriptive text areas get 55% more direct visits from the search engines than those with less than 100. Those with none suffer. Solution: Enter more text.
- Optimise your text to be search engine friendly, use place names, local attractions and events, talk of pursuits, sporting and cultural activities in your area. Use phrases throughout your advertisement text that someone might use to describe, locate or link your property to a reason to be there.
- Make your advert unique. When writing adverts for your property, never re-use the same description you have used elsewhere as duplicated content can be penalised by search engines. Advertisements perform better if they are unique on each site
Photographs & images should be the best quality you have. Without doubt, more conversions are gained by advertisements containing well composed quality photographs. Use images to sell your property and the holiday lifestyle. We recommend you balance your images with interior and exterior accommodation views with some lifestyle shots to conjure the feeling of your holiday proposition. Try to invoke the atmosphere of the holiday experience on offer by including some local touristic shots. We recommend you use all of the photo opportunities and don't forget to complete their caption. Always remember most of us shop with our eyes first and the other senses follow.
Regularly update your availability. Ensure you mark all periods that you wish to offer your property for rental as 'A' for available. 'U' for unknown means exactly that – uncertainty… we are waiting for an update. We all want to see 'B' for booked on your property. This facility is available every eight days (timed to the second to prevent abuse). Give your advertisement a regular boost by promoting it’s presence on our site.
Display rental rates. 86% of our clients surveyed said they like to know the price before they enquire. They do not like surprises and some are reticent to enquire further. Respond to all enquiries quickly. Survey results clearly showed the likelihood of achieving a booking declines rapidly with a slower response time to the enquiry. More than 50% of travelers surveyed, booked with an owner who responded to their enquiry within 3 hours; Whilst only 29% booked with an owner who took up to 24 hours to reply and less than 10% with owners who took up to 3 days.
